The Sonnenpark

The Schutzhütte
Families are warmly welcome at the Lifestyle & Design Hotel Schutzhütte — but unlike the Sonnenpark, the Schutzhütte is not a classic family hotel with childcare and play areas.
The Schutzhütte is designed for active families and individualists of all ages who value a relaxed lifestyle atmosphere, a deep connection to nature, outdoor activities, and culinary enjoyment — all while appreciating personal and digital service. This boutique hotel, with its 69 stylishly furnished rooms and 10 chic chalets, blends alpine flair with boho elements and modern architecture.
If you're looking for active relaxation among friends, the Hotel Schutzhütte — opening in 2026 — is the perfect place. Here, shared experiences turn into unforgettable memories.
Awards
Since 2013, Sonnenpark has been a proud recipient of the HolidayCheck Award every year. In addition, Sonnenpark was named Germany’s best family hotel for the seventh consecutive time in the kinderhotel.info Award 2025. These recognitions are based in large part on guest reviews from platforms such as Google, TripAdvisor, and HolidayCheck.
Sandra and Marc Vollbracht are especially proud of these honors, as guest satisfaction is their top priority. The warmth and attention to detail that define Sonnenpark are values they also aim to bring to life in the upcoming Schutzhütte.
The Vollbracht Family
Behind the Urberg Hotels — and thus behind both Sonnenpark and Schutzhütte — are Sandra and Marc Vollbracht.
Sonnenpark was founded in 1983 by Karin and Ulrich Vollbracht in Willingen. Since 2012, their son Marc Vollbracht and his wife Sandra have been at the helm of the award-winning family hotel, which has been part of the Familotel quality group since 1995.
In 2024, with the construction of the Lifestyle & Design Hotel Schutzhütte, the umbrella brand Urberg Hotels was born — uniting both hotel concepts under one name.
